This video was made for AV-OG-TIL, a Norwegian NGO, working to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol. The aim is to raise awareness around the dangers of intoxication while operating a boat. Launching is an art form best practiced sober.
Everyone remembers the original boss video where we see this guy execute the most baller docking in the history of boating. Now he’s back and this time he’s showing sailors how it’s done with a one step launch-and-rig. These videos are promoting sober boating in Norway and the marketing team behind it is being praised for the campaign’s creativity and likeability.
In the first shot of the boss on his sailboat, one would almost automatically think he’s had a few beers as he lays back in the sun and pulls the trigger on his Rube Goldberg like launching procedure. But as he launches the boat in perfect style, he’s praised by a couple of old Norwegian salts.
In predictable style, he sails directly over to them and trolls their style of drinking and boating, confirming his boss status. It’s great to see humor used to promote the serious and important topic of people getting too intoxicated to safely operate their boats. These promotions will definitely help get people to make the right decision in the future and it’s a topic that we can all get behind.
Looking forward to seeing what scenario the team over at AV-OG-TIL comes up with next for the boss. We’ll keep you updated and remember: don’t drink and boat.
