Oracle America's Cup

The summer sailing season is upon us, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Here’s a quick roundup of some of the regattas we look forward to watching every year. Things really kick off next weekend on Nantucket at Figawi and in Bermuda at the Louis Vuitton Cup. Which will you be following – or lucky enough to actually be there?!

Where: Hyannis – Nantucket
When: May 26th – 29th
About: Figawi is considered to be the unofficial start to the sailing season by many people. What better way to kick off the year than a race across Nantucket Sound, resulting in a weekend long party on the island. This race has been around since 1972 and becomes more popular every year. Thousands flock to Nantucket to welcome the sailors every year, resulting in a weekend long bash 30 miles out at sea. More information here.

What: Louis Vuitton Cup
Where: Bermuda
When: May 26th – June 12th
About: With the Louis Vuitton regatta falling on the same weekend as Figawi, it’s a tough decision as to which one to attend. This regatta will be packed with much more excitement because the winner of this regatta will go on to compete against ORACLE TEAM USA for the America’s Cup. It will be the first look at the six teams from around the world sailing against one another. What better venue than Bermuda to watch this highly intense regatta? America’s Cup

This event happens once every four years and always gains a massive following. The bar is raised every year with the technology and the evolution of design that is put into these boats.
